Chunk of Turquoise — A monolithic archival study in mineral saturation.
This work explores the tension between massive concrete form and fluid color. Fractured pigmented concrete reveals a saturated turquoise interior, where light-refracting minerals and embedded glass create a deep-water gradient across the slab. Rather than a surface finish, the color is integrated into the material matrix, allowing tonal variations to emerge from within the stone.
Hand-cast by Dylan Myers at The Concrete Anomaly. This is a unique, one-of-one work.
Dimensions: 60” x 30” x 12” Material: High-performance GFRC, Mineral Pigments, Recycled Glass.
