WIRE + RUST
WIRE + RUST turns a condition normally treated as material failure into the subject of the work.
Steel lattice and rebar is embedded, then deliberately revealed as grout is eroded from the surface. Acid, water, and oxidation carry rust through the surrounding concrete, leaving mineral stains, exposed aggregate, and fractured surfaces.
Across the two panels, the same process produces two distinct records—one held within measured lines, the other breaking into a dense field of exposed wire and stone. The work exists between concrete wall sculpture and architectural artifact: controlled in construction, but shaped by reactions that cannot be repeated exactly.
